Saturday April 27 2024 - Macon, Georgia

Carrollton High School students expertly performed the Sonata in F Minor by Telemann; Connor Haley on bassoon, and Gray Langlo on piano.  Unfortunately, the music judges did not rank our ensemble with the scholarships, however Mr. Carr and I were very impressed with the accuracy and precision that had been accomplished by the two.

Art -
Marcella Kuykendall of the Carrollton Center for the Arts had hidden away the winning art pieces from the Carrollton local Art and Music Showcase in February, for transport to Macon for the District Show.   None of our art submissions won scholarships this year.  Carrollton ninth grade Julie Patel's painting "Ballard of Bards" was awarded the blue ribbon for first place in ninth grade art.

Thanks again for the contributors and sponsors of the Art and Music Showcase, of which $3,000 was awarded locally.   The Carrollton Kiwanis Club contributes to the Georgia District Foundation which pays scholarships $15,000 for District winners.
