Kristin Gill, Executive Director of the Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation, presented a program to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club at lunch in University of West Georgia's Hubbard Dining Room. In observance of last year's seventy-fifth anniversary of Kiwanis in Carrollton, the Carrollton Kiwanis Foundation presented a check in the amount of $7,500, designated specifically for subsidizing Field Trip Experiences for students in need of financial assistance.

Carrollton Kiwanis Club – Foundation Board of Trustees - April 19, 2024
- Two Financial Boards for Carrollton Kiwanis Club
- Club Board
- Oversight of meetings, dues, meals, speakers/programs, day to day operations, etc. by Club Officers and Board of Directors
- Financial accounting for operational expenses of above items
- Foundation Trustee Board – (501-c-3 Non Profit Organization)
- Oversight of all non-profit fundraising of revenue via service projects and donor gifts as well as payment of budgeted contributions to worthy organizations & other related expenses
- Examples of our service projects are Kiwanis /Bob Reeves Memorial 5K Race, UWG Football Concessions, Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, Art and Music Showcase, & past projects such as Kiwanis Youth Football Bowl
- Club Board
- Our Foundation Trustee Board is comprised of former Club Presidents Clint Backstrom, Joe Bell, Jim Collins, Bob Graf, Randy Miller, Tim Warren AND Foundation Treasurer Jim Carter along with the current Club President as an Ex Officio member
- Our Foundation follows “Board of Trustees Financial Guidelines Resolution” to ensure proper governance & stewardship of all funds entrusted to the Foundation
- Each fiscal year ending, your Trustees evaluate remaining Equity Reserves….build up of non-allocated funding from past service projects….FYE 2023…$58,862. Our Guideline Resolution permits use of any reserve funds above current proposed budget ($41,000) for special projects within Kiwanis International’s focus for improving lifestyles of children & youth within our community.
- Your Board of Trustees voted to set aside $15,000 in support of our Club’s 75th Anniversary AND donate $7,500 each to Carrollton City Schools System AND Central Schools Cluster specifically for subsidizing Field Trip Experiences for students in need of financial assistance.
- Today, we welcome Dr Mark Albertus, Superintendent of Carrollton City Schools & Carrollton Kiwanis member since 2016 along with Mrs. Kristin Gill, Executive Director of the Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation to share more about their Foundation as well as how our endowment funding will be used to assist students.
