Herald's Report January 12, 2024

We welcomed an interclub from the Fairfield Kiwanis Club:  Gloria and Barry Gardner.  A dedicated Kiwanian, Barry has served as Vice-Governor, as a Past Lieutenant Governor, and a District Chair.  He also serves as President of the Veteran's Park.  Recently  his son has been promoted to a two-star General.  Like myself, Barry is being treated for bladder cancer. Barry refers to Gloria as the brains of the family and credits her love and care for getting him through this challenging time.

 

 

 

 

Julie Key  -  A proud Joey Key invited daughter Julia.  Julia is a UWG graduate student working on an MA in Public Administration.  She also works in Residence Life at UWG.  Julia gave Santa Claus a photograph of when she visited him at our club many years ago.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A beaming Richard Dixon brought daughter Linsey Koda and her lovable daughter, Kennedy Koda.  Linsey is a successful Licensed Professional Counselor with a large practice working with teens and adults in Peachtree City.  Kennedy, beloved by everyone in our club and an outstanding student at Starr's Mill High School,adores Pop Dixon and Nana!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Iconic Golden K Kiwanian, Grace Miller, joined us along with daughter Margaret Miller, who retired as a Marine Colonel!  Margaret joined our club, which means some of  us will have to shape up and get it together.

 

 

 

Cindy and Dan Minish also joined us for lunch.  Dan, who recently retired from THE TIMES GEORGIAN brought a lot of recognition to our club and to our work in the community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My wife, Anne Richards accompanied me to the meeting to make sure I behaved and didn't get into trouble.  I couldn't get through this difficult time without her.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Angela Dailey, publisher of WEST GEORGIA WOMAN was also present for lunch to see the Club Herald celebrated and roasted.
