Neva Lomason Memorial Library hosted a ceremony for the grand unveiling of their LeRoy Childs wall display on April 2nd at 11 am.

This project honors the life and legacy of Mr. LeRoy Childs, who was a former Director of the West Georgia Regional Library System.

Mr. Childs was the first Black public library director in Georgia and was posthumously honored with the Georgia Public Library Service’s 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.a

Leroy Childs served as President of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club 1985-86.
