The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton met on January 24, 2025, at the University of West Georgia Hubbard Dining Room in West Commons. Our club had the pleasure of hosting our own Kiwanian, Margaret Miller. We were fascinated by the recounting of Margaret's courageous climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the "Mountain of Greatness" rooted in Tanzania, Africa.Margaret and family/friends arrived in Arusha and hiked from 8/12-20/2024 with temperatures ranging from 85 to 5 degrees along the way. On the final trek, the group walked throughout the night to arrive at the summit (elevation of 20,000 above sea level) to greet the sunrise at the peak of the world, after looking down on clouds along the way. Thank you, Mama Simba, for sharing your amazing adventure. And the icing on the cake was Margaret's Mother in attendance to applaud her daughter!
