The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton met on November 15, 2024, at the University of West Georgia Hubbard Dining Room in West Commons. Our club had the pleasure of hosting Kierston Phillips, Chief Magistrate Court Judge for Carroll County. Ms. Phillips shared many interesting details of her daily work in our large county footprint based on the smaller yet publicly accessible and vital role of the magistrate court in which she presides. Responsibilities include financial claims and garnishments, county ordinances, bench trials, warrant and first appearance hearings, bond settings, landlord/tenant challenges, and more. Ms. Phillips loves the law and is proud to continue to serve our county and community.
