Cedric Estelle, Maintenance Manager at Plant Yates, spoke to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club at Sunset Hills Country Club on Friday, June 12.
Georgia Power is reducing the amount of generation of electricity from coal and is diversifying into natural gas, solar, wind, and nuclear. Five of the coal powered generators at Plant Yates will be shut down, and one of the two smokestacks will be demolished.
