Clint Backstrom, representing the Kiwanis Foundation Board, recognized Jami Bower and Pam Russell Smith at the Kiwanis meeting on July 31, 2024, for books dedicated "in memory" of their loved ones; Art Bower (husband) and Jim Russell (father). The Dr. Seuss books were presented to all second grade students in the Carrollton City and Carroll County school systems. Art Bower served on the Kiwanis Board of Directors and Jim Russell served as Club President in 1999 and later as Lieutenant Governor of the Division.
