The Moon's umbral (darkest) shadow will cross the continental United States on August 21, 2017, creating a coast-to-coast total solar eclipse visible to millions. This is one celestial event that people will be talking about for years to come.  Carroll County will be in the path of the partial eclipse, and UWG is providing safety glasses to observe the eclipse to every student in the County thanks to a grant awarded.

Dr. Powell narrated a slide show to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sunset Hills County Club.  Dr. Powell will travel to South Carolina to study the effects of the total eclipse.
