Dr. Bruce Cauthen - Kiwanis Program December 11, 2015

After a number of years in the private sector, Bruce Cauthen completed his Ph.D. at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2000. He is a former editor of the scholarly journal, Nations and Nationalism, and remained for a number of years thereafter a member of the journal’s International Advisory Board. Dr. Cauthen is also the past Chairman of the London-based Association for the Study of Ethnicity and Nationalism (ASEN). He also served as Rappotuer of the Southern Africa Study Group at the Royal Institute of International Affairs. While a visiting professor at Emory University where he taught international relations and African politics, Dr. Cauthen received widespread public acclaim for his dynamic teaching style and the immense popularity of his courses. Throughout his entire career, he has been a frequent commentator on issues relating to international politics and has demonstrated a remarkable prescience in forecasting geo-strategic scenarios. Before returning to the lecture circuit, Dr. Cauthen served as the Managing Partner of International Trajectories, LLC, an Atlanta-based travel consultancy which specialized in tours to Africa which integrated academic analysis, political awareness, and socio-cultural interaction.
