The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton met on August 1, 2025, in the meeting room at American Pie Pizzeria. Our club had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Chris Joyner, Deputy Politics Editor for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Chris has spent the past three decades as an investigative and enterprise reporter, launching his career as a UWG graduate and later as a reporter for the Times-Georgian. Our club had the special opportunity to welcome Chris as the author of "The Three Death Sentences of Clarence Henderson," the story of a sharecropper, local to Carroll County, who was wrongly convicted for a murder he didn't commit in 1948. Chris is a fascinating storyteller, and the room was captivated by his commitment to the battle for racial justice.
