Walter Dunson, Athletics Coordinator, updated the Carrollton Kiwanis Club on the progress of athletic programs at West Georgia Technical College, the home of the Golden Knights.

West Georgia Technical College introduced intercollegiate athletics in the Winter Quarter of 2008. Competitive sports included men’s basketball and women’s volleyball in its inaugural year. West Georgia Tech added women’s basketball and cheerleading in the Fall of 2009.

Baseball was introduced in the Fall of 2010 and the school hired former Major Leaguer Todd Pratt as its first head coach. The Summer of 2011 saw WGTC add fast pitch softball to its arsenal.
