The Metro Atlanta Kiwanis Club honored charter member Norman Johnson at the annual Charter Anniversary Banquet.  The Carrollton Kiwanis Club sponsored the Metro Atlanta Club 31 years ago.  The 31st Charter Anniversary was held at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park.

Zelma Paschal and her husband were presented Hixson Awards at the banquet by Georgia District Governor Pat Tritt.  Zelma spoke to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club briefly during the recent Inter-Club on the "Eliminate Project".  Zelma is Georgia District Chair for the "Eliminate" project. (eliminating maternal and neonatal tetanus )

Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Johnson were in attendance.  Johnny was elected to the International Board of Trustees at the recent International Convention in Las Vegas.  Also in attendance were Bill and Alexia Lieber.  Bill was International President in 1993 and Alexia currently serves as Georgia District Exectutive Director.

The Metro Atlanta Club has provided two Governors and several state officers over the years.  Serving as emcee for the banquet was Chuck Hood, who will be the third Metro Atlanta member to serve as Governor of the Georgia District.  He was elected as Secretary-Treasurer at the recent Convention at Callaway Gardens and enters the rotation for Georgia Kiwanis Governor in three years.

The "Best Civic Club in Georgia" (Carrollton, of course) can be very proud to have sponsored such a prestigious and successful serving club as the Metro Atlanta Kiwanis Club.
