The funeral for Staff Sergeant William Jerome Rivers, who was killed in Jordan last month by a drone attack on the sleeping quarters of an Army Reserve unit from Georgia, will be held Tuesday (2.13.2024) at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton. Visitation was Monday from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at the church. The service will be Tuesday at 10:00 am. A Live Stream will be available on Hightower Family Funeral Homes’ Facebook page. His body will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The Carrollton Police Department is asking all citizens who are able to line the Bypass from Tabernacle to Bankhead Hwy after the service. The procession is expected to leave Tabernacle at 11:30 am. .
