Marjorie Templeman died Saturday, December 29. She was an honorary member of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club,
the widow of long-time member Leroy Templeman.
 
Mrs. Marjorie Houston Templeman, 93, of Carrollton, Ga,, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012.

Mrs. Templeman was born in Atlanta, Ga., on Dec. 3, 1919, the daughter of the late John W. Houston and Margie Brown Houston.

She retired as secretary of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce after 28 years of service. Mrs. Templeman was a charter member of the League of Women’s Voters, the first president of the Carrollton Garden Club, member of the First Baptist Church and Loyalty Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Margie Brown and David Posey of Evans, Ga., Mattie Celeste and Larry Williams of Lilburn; son, Ralph Templeman of Carrollton, grandchildren, John David Posey, Buck David Posey, Margaret Celeste Popwell, Marjorie Ann Kemp, David William Templeman, and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy V. Templeman Jr.; son, LeRoy V. Templeman III; and sister, Celeste Tigner.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Davis, Dr. David Griffin, and Fred Richards officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Loyalty Sunday School Class, Mermaids Water Aerobics Class, and the Carrollton Pilot Club.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Baptist Church, 102 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.

Interment will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery.
