Beginning in October, we will begin reading stories to the children at the two Head Start Centers in Carrollton, as well as the one Head Start Center in Villa Rica. There are 11 classes at each of the Carrollton Centers and 2 classes at the Villa Rica Center – providing us with 24 different reading opportunities each month. I will provide a sign-up opportunity at the meeting this Friday and all subsequent meetings.

As a 25-year educator in the public schools with more than half of those years working with children with extraordinary needs, I understand how significant an experience the reading of a story by someone who cares can be. With our commitment of one visit a month in each class – perhaps reading two stories in each class, I know that the Carrollton Kiwanis Club is ready to provide such an opportunity for these young children. Thank you for your committed service to the children of Carroll County.
