Civil War: The Battle of Atlanta

 

Robert Carter presented a program to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club at Sunset Hills Country Club on Friday, July 11; the 150 year anniversary of the Civil War's battle of Atlanta.  He talked about the importance of railroads in the Civil War, and he followed the battles south from Chattanooga, Resaka, Chicamauga, to Atlanta and Savannah.

Kiwanis VP presents the coveted Kiwanis mug and an "I love Carrollton" shirt to program presenter Robert Carter.  Carter has published two books on the battle of Chicamauga :  "The Battle of Snodgrass Hill and the Rock of Chicamauga" and  "Longstreet's Breakthrough at Chicamauga - Accidental Victory" .
