Congratulations to the ten scholarship winners of the Art and Music Showcase, and good luck as the Carrollton Kiwanis Club sends representatives to the Districts Showcase in April.

Scholarship Winners:

Anna Courtney, twelfth grader from Carrollton High School, won the first place in music and the $ 500 scholarship.  She sang Alleluia (from Exsultate, jubilate) by Mozart, accompanied by Brenda Sue Holcombe.  Ms. Courtney will represent the Carrollton Kiwanis Club in the District Finals in April.

Hannah Johnson, eleventh grader from Carrollton High School, won second place in music and a $ 400 scholarship.  She played Rotation II by Eric Sammut on the Mirimba.

Peter Bober, eleventh grader from Oak Mountain Academy, won third place in music and a $ 300 scholarship.  He played Étude Op. 25 No. 12 by  Frédéric Chopin on the piano.

Abby Alexander, twelfth grader from Oak Mountain Academy, won fourth place in music and a $ 200 scholarship.  She sang O mio babbino caro (from Giuanni Schicchi) by Giacomo Puccini.

William Rollins, eleventh grader from Carrollton High School, won fifth place in music and a $ 100 scholarship.  He sang Non posso disperar by De Luca accompanied by Brenda Sue Holcombe.

Ivey Smith – “I’m Stumped,” $400 First Place (10th Grade Rep), Carrollton High School, 10th Grade

Valerie Heine- “Masked Exposure” $300 (12th Grade Rep), Second Place, Carrollton High School, 12th Grade

Mary Hirvela – “Pondering Fate,” $200 Third PlaceCarrollton High School, 10th Grade

Maria Saito – “Reach Me,” $100 Fourth Place (11th Grade Rep), Carrollton High School, 11th Grade
