The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton met on November 14, 2025, at the University of West Georgia's Hubbard Dining Room in West Commons. Our club had the opportunity to host Dr. Mark Albertus, Superintendent of Carrollton City Schools since 2016. Dr. Albertus provided a district overview and highlights for our impressive city school system - 5,809 students strong - with four schools and a 130+ acre campus with expansion plans to reach the Cottage Hills area. We learned about the impactful 93% graduation rate with 85% of graduates attending college and $35 million given in scholarships. Mr. Austin Williams, Director of CTAE, informed us of the robust career pathways program to include a dynamic co-op curriculum with RaLin and the Air Force JROTC. We have much to be proud of in our renowned city school system. Photo: Joey Key, Kiwanis President; Austin Williams, Asst. Principal and CTAE Director; Ian Lyle, Principal of Carrollton High School; and Dr. Mark Albertus, Superintendent.
