Joey Smith spoke to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club on Friday, October 21, 2022, in UWG's Hubbard Dining Room. He provided a preview of the upcoming Economics Forecast Breakfast which will be held in the UWG Campus Ballroom on November 1.
William J. "Joey" Smith is a professor of Economics, the David A. Johnson Distinguished Scholar, and Chair of the Department of Economics at the University of West Georgia.

Blake Wingo - Past President Clint Backstrom invited prospective member Blake Wingo. Blake, a 2020 graduate of UWG, is currently enrolled in thegraduate school. A resident of Bowdon, Blake serves as the UWG Coordinator of the Title Nine Program.
Casey King - Golden K member, Bob Uglum, joined us for lunch and even brought us a prospective member, Casey King. Originally from Greenville, GA, Casey is an insurance agent with Great Southern Agency in Carrollton, GA. Casey was inquiring about an outstanding civic club and Bob told her "You can't do better than the Carrollton Kiwanis Club." Keep up the great work, Bob!
Georgia Waddell, a Junior UWG Biology Major and President of Circle K, shared lunch with us. She enjoys visiting our club and we enjoy her company as well.
Jackie McGuinn - Past President, Dale Williams, brought prospective member Jackie McGuinn. Jackie has lived in the West Georgia area for the last 20 years while employed at Southwire and is now with Care Track. She loves travelling and cooking.

The Carrollton Kiwanis Club is proud to have sponsored in November 1979 the new club known as the Metro Atlanta Kiwanis Club. Since 1979, the Metro Atlanta Club has been represented by three Georgia District Governors: Lille Robbins, John Holley, and Charles "Chuck" Hood. (Two Past Governors are in this photo.) Many members of the Metro Atlanta Club have served in other District-wide roles.

On November 19, 2022, The Metro Atlanta Kiwanis Club will hold its Annual Founder's Day Celebration at the Historic Green Manor Restaurant, 6400 Westbrook Avenue, Union City Georgia. The time of the celebration is 12:00 Noon and the cost is $43.00 per person. Another fun fact: Past Carrollton Kiwanis President Susan Duncan's family enjoyed much history in the Green Manor Estate.
