The Aktion Club met at the Carroll County Training Center at 10 AM. on Monday morning.  There were ~ 55 special-needs adults in attendance.

Jim Carter introduced a fun craft activity, and then read Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s most famous poem about the American Revolution; "Paul Revere's Ride". Published in 1861, The poem immortalized Revere's midnight warning to the Massachusetts militia, helping spark the Revolutionary War.

The next three meetings will be held at non-restaurants, and the officers will need to confirm attendees accurately , in advance, for caterers.

   You can stretch a large pan of barbecue, but you can't stretch box lunches.  So your attention to this is appreciated.

 

June 5 - County PAC building, 775 Old Newnan Rd.  Registration was finished after the show of hand at the last meeting.

June 12 - County PAC building, 775 Old Newnan Rd.  The e-mail was sent this morning, and electronic registration will be open until Thursday, June 11.

June 19 - Carroll Co Administration Building , 423 College St.  The e-mail will be sent Monday, June 8, and will be open until Thursday, June 18.

Admittedly, the computer e-mail invite for the June 5 meeting was sent too late to be effective, and a large majority of the room were manually registered for June 5 by the secretary, by the show of hands.   I sent the invite this morning for June 12, and listed the on-line registration open until Thursday (June 11),  allowing plenty of time;  and said please, and now "pretty please".

 

I assisted one of our members today while he was registering on his smart phone.  The process is harder for me on the phone, as I like the luxury of a wide screen, but the hint is to scroll down in the invite message until you see the added words in bold: "click here -->>" and open the link -to the right- that shows in blue font color.  Following through, next will be to select the blue box that says "register me".   If finished, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, and the ClubRunner will add your name to list of attendees.
