Jeff Richards spoke to the Carrollton Kiwanis Club on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Carrollton's Couryard Marriott.  Jeff has just been appointed as the new warden at the Carroll County Prison.

After multiple date changes, looks like Lt Gov Bill Braswell (Douglas Co club) has settled to hold our Division 12 Governor's Rally virtually.

Please plan to join Zoom Meeting Thursday September 10 at 5:30. It's open to all club members. We'll be presenting a donation in honor of Governor Andy to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Daniel Jackson  -  Kiwanian and Publisher of the STAR NEWS, Sue Horn,  brought new reporter, Daniel Jackson to cover the program by Jeff Richards.  Daniel, a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, served twenty years with tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, Germany, and South Korea.  He and his wife Demetric (also retired from the military) have three grown sons.  In between reporting for the STAR NEWS, Daniel is completing his BA degree at UWG.

Kiwanis 5-K Race rescheduled  - Sept 26
Kiwanis volunteers are needed to distribute the promo cards at the race in Roopville this Saturday. (Saturday, September19, 2020)

Racing enthusiasts advise that the best advertising for our race -  is to notify runners at previous races.
