Law Enforcement - ACE Unit
Carrollton Police Officers Kyle Jones and Ian Wright provided the program for the Carrollton Kiwanis Club on November 13, 2020 at Carrollton's Courtyard Marriott.
The topic was "drugs" and "gangs" in Carrollton.  Both Jones and Wright serve on the "joint" (pun un-intended - multi agency shared) task force call the ACE (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement) unit.

Herald's Report November 13

Let the visitor beware -

Introduces guests

with a FLARE !!!

Guests November 13, 2020

Mitch Backstrom  -  President-Elect Clint Backstrom invited Dad, Mitch, who is having thoughts about possibly joining our club.  Hopefully my introduction didn't dissuade him from joining!  Mitch, a UWG graduate (BA and MA) tells us he is proud of his 33 years of working for the West Georgia Tool and Die - and, of course, proud of son, Clint, as well.

Daniel Jackson  -  a STAR NEWS reporter, joined us to cover the program on drugs and gang violence.  Daniel, retired from the Army, served 20 years with tours of duty taking him around the world.  He and wife, Demetric - also an Army veteran - have three children.  We always appreciate representatives of the media covering our club programs.

Reminder:   "Mind your P's and Q's"
Protecting the reputation of Kiwanis International:

Everyone, as we continue to meet virtually and in person, please be mindful of the words we say aloud and how we speak to others. Everything we say is broadcast more than before. Speaking positively and respectfully to one another helps to show others that our club is a place that all are welcome to be.

Gift Cards - Food Insecurity
Please don't forget to consider donating to our Food Gift Card Drive. We purchase small denomination food gift cards to local restaurants, and give them to local high school counselors, who distribute them to needy students to help feed them during Christmas break. Every dollar helps, and we can even place it on your quarterly bill.
