The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton met on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the University of West Georgia in the Hubbard Dining Room. The guest speaker was Ben Garrett, President/CEO of RaLin. Our club had the opportunity to learn about The Birches on Maple, an exciting joint venture supported by Tanner Health System, to provide a first-class, local senior living community. The Birches on Maple will feature a variety of life style and living spaces for independent, assisted, and speciality living and care.

It works because we set goals and are reminded to bring guests.
It works because - if guests enjoy Kiwanis, they join.
It helps our club qualify as a Distinguished Club in Georgia. The Governor has added weight to the Distinguished status for clubs who participate in the Two for Two Program.
Let the visitor beware - for Dr. Fred Richards Introduces guests with a FLARE !!!

Here's the latest:
An enthusiastic Ben Garrett introduced us to the Birches on Maple, a first-class senior living community arriving right here in Carrollton!
A part of Tanner Health System, the Birches will offer free-standing, single-owner homes and independent living apartments, assisted-living options, and memory care for those needing special care.
Joining us to hear the program was Steven Gladney, invited by Lieutenant Governor Neil Weathington. Steve, a prospective member, is a member of the Whitesburg Christian Church, plays a wicked tune on the trombone, enjoys riding a motorcycle, and doing part-time handy-man work. The father of two grown children, he's not quite ready to move to the Birches but surely ready to join our club!
As always, we enjoyed the company of two UWG Circle K members: Reggie Ponder, a freshman Secondary Education major and Victoria Beil, Circle K President and senior Business Management major. The Circle K participated in a clean-up project. Eight members volunteered, setting the standard of service we all aspire to emulate!
