Kiwanis International Convention in Denver
Four Kiwanians from Division Twelve were able to attend the Convention in Denver Colorado during the first week of July 2024:  Bill Braswell slipped out of the delegate session before I could snap a picture, so here's my crude attempt at photo insertion:

Kiwanis International President ; Katrina Baranko, from Albany Georgia, and Kiwanis International, were recognized in a special ceremony behind home plate at the Rockies' baseball game on July 4, 2024.  Thanks to Jeri Purdy for the centerfield scoreboard photo .

Georgia District Kiwanis Convention
Even though Early-Bird Registration ended on July 19, every Kiwanian should experience the Georgia Kiwanis Convention.
Ask your club secretary to register you to attend on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Peachtree Corners (Norcross).
The more the merrier !

Attention Officers and Directors
CLE Training for incoming Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers for all of the clubs in Divisions 3 and 12 will be Saturday, August 10 at 9:00.  It will be at the City of Hope Cancer Center, 600 Celebrate Life Parkway in Newnan, GA.  Park in the front (the entrance at the red light) and enter through the front doors.  Once in the front door, turn right.  There will hopefully be signs that morning to help.
The training is required for all Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers.  I would encourage all officers to attend, especially the President-Elect and Membership Chair, if possible.  Please let Karen Goodell Webb (webbkg@gmail.com or 404-840-9119) by Friday, August 2 if you plan to attend.  Our trainer C. R. Phillips should be finished by noon.
We will provide coffee, water and light snacks.

Council Meeting Division 12
Definition:  "Council" in this case is the Kiwanis language for meetings of local Presidents, Presidents-Elect, Secretaries, Treasurers, Directors, WITH  Lieutenant Governors.

I need your help in attending this meeting on Saturday, July 27, 2024, and to have each of the nine clubs represented.  Please come share the success and challenges that your club has enjoyed during the last year.

I appreciate the effort that I have seen from each of you - to make your club the best that it can be.  I have also seen the value of peeking outside your small huddle, to see the success experienced by other clubs.   Did you know that in the world, there are ~ forty-nine (49) Districts in Kiwanis International, of which Georgia is its own unique District.  In the Georgia District, there are seventeen (17) Divisions, and in our twelfth (12th) Division there are the nine (9) clubs listed at the top of this newsletter.

Equal Distances ?
I have attempted to locate this meeting in a geographically friendly location for all nine clubs, approximately less than thirty minutes drive per home club location.
By meeting at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Jones Barbeque in Temple Georgia is able to accommodate us in the separate dining room after his lunch rush is finished.
Jones BBQ is known for its (or course,) BBQ, salad bar, burgers, ribeye steaks, old fashioned fries and onion rings, desserts, etc...

Presidents and Secretaries - please notify me if you are unavailable to attend in-person.  We send representatives:  need each club represented !
