Tim Martin, Chief Executive Officer for Carroll Electric Membership Cooperation and Past-President of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club (2005-2006) coordinated the program for the Kiwanis Club on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the Courtyard Marriott. 
 
 
 
 
Tim Martin introduced Jim Clotfelter, who spoke of the joint venture of EMC with SyncGlobal Telecom and the plan for providing internet services in Carroll and Heard County Georgia.

Daniel Jackson  -  a STAR NEWS reporter, joined us to cover Tim Martin's program.  Daniel, retired from the Army, served 20 years with tours of duty taking him around the world.  He and wife, Demetric - also an Army veteran - have three children.  We always appreciate representatives of the media covering our club programs.

 
 
Mitch Backstrom  -  President-Elect Clint Backstrom invited Dad, Mitch, who is having thoughts about possibly joining our club.  Hopefully my introduction didn't dissuade him from joining!  Mitch, a UWG graduate (BA and MA) tells us he is proud of his 33 years of working for the West Georgia Tool and Die - and, of course, proud of son, Clint, as well.

Georgia Kiwanis Division 12 Governor's Rally

Lieutenant Governor Bill Braswell finally hosted the Division 12 Governor's Rally online via Zoom.  ( - :
 
Ten members of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club attended the meeting .  Thank you for representing the Carrollton Kiwanis Club at the Governor's Rally.
 
 
Five members of the Carrollton Kiwanis Club were recognized and awarded the Governor's Leadership Medallion:

Terry Langley (He was actually given the medallion for his work with Bowdon club, but we are proud of him)

The Carrollton Kiwanis Club also will be receiving the 50+ year patch from Governor Andy.
 
CLE sessions are still being done via zoom by the GA District this week. One hour sessions at 6:30 tonight and tomorrow. Next this week (Mon-Thur), the sessions will start at 7:00. Each night covers a different topic (Membership, SLP's, District, Projects). E-mail Jenny for link.
