Here is the information on the Quasquicentennial 12.5 race, fun run, and Story Walk for the Clubrunner.  Call me if you have any questions.  Please encourage volunteers.  Thanks,

To promote literacy, health and wellness, Horton’s Books & Gifts is partnering with Carroll County’s Literacy is For Today and Tomorrow  (LIFT) program and local merchants to organize a 12.5K run, a story walk and a one-mile Fun Run on September 17, 2016 beginning at 8:00 a.m.

What Is A Story Walk?
It’s a great opportunity to exercise and learn at the same time. While walking through Hobb’s Farm, participants will pause at literacy stations along the way and read different sections of a children’s book. In order to hear the entire story, the children (and those who are children at heart) will have to complete the entire walk.

How Can You Help?
We need volunteers to help check-in or register the runners, direct the runners in the races, man the water stations, and help set-up and take down.  Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. so if you would like to work registration, you will need to be at Hobbs Farm by 6:00 a.m.  The event should be over by about 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.

Volunteers will receive a Quasquicentennial t-shirt and our sincere thanks.
To volunteer, call me770 832-8021 or email me atpittman@hortonsbooks.com.
